'SUPER LEAGUE' PLANS CONDEMNED

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has joined condemnation of plans for a new European Super League in football.

12 major clubs in England, Spain and Italy including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham have announced a new break-away competition.

They claim it will help the sport at every level - but fans are accusing them of greed and Boris Johnson's warned it could be "very damaging".

The Guardian's Chief Sports Writer Sean Ingle says it's about money and control.
