Japan is expected to acquire enough COVID-19 vaccines for all residents aged 16 or over by the end of September, after discussions with Pfizer's CEO over the weekend.
Japan lags far behind other major economies in the global vaccine rollout, but the country is currently facing a fourth wave of coronavirus infections.
