French president weighing up new Covid-19 measures to fight third wave of cases

The French president is weighing up imposing a weekend lockdown for the Greater Paris area, as coronavirus infections rise, evacuations continue by plane of some patients and hospitals near capacity.

Emmanuel Macron is expected to discuss the plans at the weekly meeting of senior ministers this morning/on Wednesday.
