Biden certified as next US president after revolt in Washington DC

Joe Biden has been certified as America's next US President after Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building.

The revolt came after president Donald Trump addressed a large crowd in Washington DC, ordering them to show strength.

As a result, four people have been confirmed dead, including a woman who was shot in the chest.

After the mayhem had been contained by armed police, US lawmakers reconvened.

The result, Vice President Mike Pence confirmed, was a win for Biden who will now take office from January 20.

After the announcement was made Trump publicly acknowledged for the first time that he would leave office.

In a statement he said he 'totally' disagreed with the outcome of the election, however, there would be an 'orderly transition' on January 20.

And for the protestors who stormed the Capitol building, Pence had this message.
