BELARUS OPPOSITION LEADER 'SAFE' IN LITHUANIA

Belarus's opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya is 'safe' in Lithuania, according to the country's foreign minister.

She's fled Belarus after Sunday's disputed election.

Official results said 80% of the vote went to President Alexander Lukashenko.

Protests continued in the capital Minks and other cities for a second day following the poll which the US, UK and EU have condemned.

Journalist Hanna Liubakova is in the capital Minsk - she says demonstrations taking place in small towns is a new phenomenon in the country.
