US demands immediate release of former marine jailed in Russia

The US has demanded the immediate release of a former US marine jailed in Russia, calling his conviction on spying charges, an "outrage".


Paul Whelan, who has been sentenced to 16 years in a high security prison, said the trial was a "sham".
