UK GOVT UNDER PRESSURE OVER 2M RULE, AND COVID-19 DEATH TOLL

Pressure continues to grow on the UK government to relax its 2 metre social distancing rule.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson says it's under review, but many of his MPs want it reduced to 1 metre.

Businesses say that could save thousands of jobs as the economy reopens.

Meanwhile, the government is pushing back against claims from one of its former key scientific advisers that locking down a week earlier in March could have cut the UK's covid-19 death toll in half.

Junior minister Simon Clarke says it's not that simple.
