INTRO:
A research conducted by a University in the Democratic Republic of Congo suggests that exposure to toxic pollution is causing birth defects in the children of copper and cobalt miners in the southeast of the country.
The researchers found that children whose parents were working in the mines in Katanga were born with limb abnormalities and other defects.
