The UK has placed helicopters and ships on standby in the Middle East to protect the country's interests "if necessary."
Defence Secretary Ben Wallace says the government is taking "urgent measures" to protect British nationals in the Gulf following the killing of General Qassem Soleimani in a US drone strike.
