The UK will go ahead with a digital sales tax, despite pressure from Washington and the OECD to hold fire.
The Chancellor, Sajid Javid, says although he would like an international solution, the UK will levy the tax in the meantime.
It would apply to search engines, online marketplaces and social media companies, but Washington believes it unfairly targets US technology giants.
