It will not be possible to sort out every aspect of Britain's future relationship with the EU before the current deadline, according to the President of the European Commission.
Ursula von der Leyen warns that both sides will have to "prioritise" which elements are negotiated before December 2020. That marks the end of the transition period during which the UK and EU will try to strike a free trade deal.
