UK’s December economic stats lack festive cheer

British businesses endured their worst downturn since mid-2016 in the run-up to Prime Minister Boris Johnson's landslide election victory last week, according to a survey published on Monday. 


The Purchasing Managers' Indexes says both the services and manufacturing sectors experienced a contraction for the third time in the past four months.
