Two university professors have been freed by the Afghan Taliban, after being held hostage for nearly three years, in exchange for three imprisoned senior militants. The long-awaited prisoner exchange, which had been delayed for several days, is intended to be a goodwill gesture to restart peace talks with the Taliban after they broke down in September.
