UN rejects US position that Israeli settlements are internationally legit

The United Nations has rejected the American government's change-of-mind about the legal legitimacy of Israeli settlements, after the U.S. said Monday it believes they are in line with international law. 


The UN's human rights agency maintained Tuesday that the settlements in the occupied territories violate existing international rules, and the U.S. stance does not change that.
