Senators work to pass Hong Kong legislation

Two U.S. senators have begun a process to quickly pass a Hong Kong rights bill.

Senators Jim Risch and Marco Rubio want to pass the Hong Kong Human
Rights and Democracy Act by a unanimous voice vote.

Rubio says the measure would send a clear message but Beijing warns
that some U.S. have sinister intentions and urge Washington not to
interfere.

Hong Kong has seen months of protests and pro-democracy demonstrators
have paralyzed parts of the city for the past several days.

U.S. correspondent William Denselow has the details on what's included
in the bill.
