European Union leaders say that problems remain with Boris Johnson's Brexit proposals, but they have been careful not to dismiss them out of hand. The Prime Minister is presenting his plans to replace the Northern Irish backstop, which is an insurance policy to avoid a hard border on the island of Ireland.
The EU is keen to avoid a "blame game" during the negotiations, as Olly Barratt reports from London.
