On the occasion of India's 73rd Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in New Delhi.
This was Mr. Modi's first Independence Day speech after his government won a landslide majority in May's general elections and he defended the government's move to strip Indian administered Kashmir of the ability to make its own laws.
