Gibraltar releases Iranian tanker, despite US plea

Gibraltar has released an Iranian oil tanker despite a last minute
plea from US authorities to detain it for longer.

America was pushing for the tanker, already held for a month, to be
kept over fears it was transporting oil to Syria, in breach of EU
sanctions.
