France pays tribute to African WW2 soldiers

French President Emmanuel Macron has paid tribute to African soldiers who took part in the Allied invasion of Southern France 75 years ago.

The huge deployment of troops from France's former colonies is known as "the other D-Day" and played a critical role in liberating the country.

Mr Macron was joined by the leaders of the Ivory Coast and Guinea as well as former French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
