JAGUAR ANNOUNCES ELECTRIC VEHICLE INVESTMENT IN UK

Jaguar Land Rover's announced plans to build new electric cars at a UK plant, safeguarding thousands of jobs.

But JLR says future investment in Britain can only be guaranteed if Brexit takes place with the 'right deal'.

The firm announced a record annual loss in May due to falling demand in China, Brexit uncertainty, and the shift away from diesel engines.

But it will now build a new electric version of its XJ saloon at its Birmingham factory.

Business analyst David Buik says it's an attempt to launch a turnaround.
