Comedian Jon Stewart has issued a blistering attack on the US congress during a hearing on healthcare funding for 9/11 first responders.
Many lawmakers on the panel did not attend, which the former late night TV host described as "shameful".
He said their failure to follow public statements through with real legislative action showed "callous indifference' and rank hypocrisy".
