Airbus announces new jet on first day of Paris Air Show

European planemaker Airbus has launched a new aircraft on the first day of the Paris Air Show.

The A321 (PRON: A-three-twentyone) extra long-range model will be able to fly 15% further than the last version of the jet.

It will add further pressure to US plane manufacturer Boeing which is still dealing with the fall out from two fatal 737 Max crashes.

Our Paris Correspondent Oliver Whitfield-Miocic reports.
