Windrush Compensation set aside by UK Home Office

Britain's Home Secretary has announced that it will compensate people whose lives were damaged by a Home Office mistake, which classified thousands of long-term British residents as illegal immigrants.

Those known as the Windrush Generation, were brought to the uk as a response to its post-war labour shortages between 1948 and 1971.

But because of a lack of official paperwork, the children of these commonwealth citizens were told they had been living in the UK illegally.

UK Correspondent Natalie Powell reports.
