US to end sanctions waivers on Iranian oil imports

The U.S. is expected to end sanctions waivers for countries that import Iranian oil.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is set to announce that all countries who previously had permission to import oil from Iran will have to stop or face sanctions.

The U.S. reimposed sanctions on exports of Iranian oil in November after President Trump pulled out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
