UK REQUESTS NEW BREXIT DELAY

UK Prime Minister Theresa May's written to the EU, seeking a further extension to Brexit to June 30th.

Brussels sources suggest European Council President Donald Tusk is considering offering a 12 month delay - but giving the UK the ability to leave the bloc sooner if its Parliament passes a deal.

In the UK, the Conservatives and opposition Labour Party continue talks to try and find a Brexit compromise.

Britain is currently due to leave the EU on 12th April.

UK correspondent Olly Barratt says the new delay request from the EU is a shorter one than Brussels may offer.
