Gay town mayor launches bid for the White House amid surging polls

Pete Buttigieg (pron: buddha-judge) has officially launched his bid to become the Democratic Party nominee for the 2020 presidential election.

Despite his relative inexperience, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, has surged in the polls in recent weeks.

Should he beat Donald Trump, he would be the first openly gay president.
