The board of French carmaker Renault has announced it will be keeping 34 million dollars it had been due to pay former CEO and chairman Carlos Ghosn (pron: GHONE like HONE).
The auto executive was arrested in Japan in November on suspension of financial misconduct.
It comes as the detained former chief changed lawyers to fight his legal case.
