With no end in sight for the partial US government shut down, the Trump administration is calling back tens of thousands of federal workers to fulfill vital roles.
The president is also expected to sign legislation providing 800,000 federal employees still working with back pay once it ends.
But now in its 26th day, a conclusion to the impasse seems a long way off.
