Seoul's foreign minister says US, DPRK talks to resume quickly


South Korea's foreign minister says she expects talks between the U.S. and North Korea to resume quickly. Minister Kang Kyung-hwa's comments come amid reports a top North Korean official will visit Washington in the coming days.

Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-hwa told reporters the U.S. and North Korea have confirmed their strong will for a second summit.

She said if President Donald Trump and leader Kim Jong-un meet, they'll have complete talks on denuclearization.

She added the talks would be based on a strategy coordinated by Washington and Seoul.

Kang also mentioned the possibility of Kim visiting South Korea.

The minister's comments come amid U.S. and South Korean media reports that top North Korean Kim Yong-chol will visit Washington this week.
