In Washington, the speaker of the House of Representatives says he's supporting legislation that would end the separation of children from their parents when illegal immigrants are detained by the US border patrol.
The move comes amid growing fury across America's political spectrum over President Trump's decision to authorize the detention of children, some as young as 7 months old.
Congressman Paul Ryan says lawmakers will vote on Thursday on a bill that could bring the crisis to an end.
