An Australian government MP says it's a test of humanity to "stop the
ships of shame" and stamp out long-haul live sheep exports.
Sussan Ley from New South Wales has introduced a private members bill to
parliament to stop the live export of sheep to the middle east calling
the process inhumane.
Ms Ley is a former sheep farmer and told the parliament she's talked the
talk and walked the walk defending the live export trade, and it's time
to stop.
IN: "I know all the arguments..."
OUT: "...economic and animal welfare grounds."
