International Community Considers Future Without Mugabe

There are scenes of jubilation on the streets of the Zimbabwean capital, following the resignation of Robert Mugabe.

He stood down after 37 years following a military takeover last week.

The ruling party Zanu-PF is indicating that the ousted Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa will take over as president, pending elections after several months of transition.

James Duddridge, a former UK Africa Minister, says he hopes the next vote will be inclusive.
