Indian government to bring in a law against instant verbal divorce

The Indian government is likely to introduce a law in Parliament soon that will make instant verbal divorce illegal.

Earlier this year, India's highest court had deemed the practice unconstitutional and outlawed it.

However, many Muslim women claim that they are still being divorced by their husbands through text and WhatsApp messages.
