AT&T pushes back as Justice Dept. sues to stop Time-Warner deal

AT&T says the anti-trust lawsuit filed by the U.S. Justice Department defies logic.

The U.S. Justice Department says the deal for AT&T and Time Warner to merge, valued at between $85 and $108 billion, will mean higher prices for consumers and less competition.

However, there are suspicions U.S. President Donald Trump is trying to force the spin-off of CNN from Time Warner, to some how undermine the 24-hour-news channel he calls "fake news."

Randall Stephenson, the CEO of AT&T, says the lawsuit is unprecendented.
