British Prime Minister Theresa May insists the government and the EU are within touching distance of reaching an agreement on citizens' rights after Brexit. Mrs May repeated her message via Facebook that she wants EU nationals to remain in the UK after the country departs the European block.
It comes as she meets the EU's other 27 leaders for a summit where the group is widely expected to say not enough progress has been made on key Brexit issues to move onto trade talks.
On her arrival for the summit Mrs May said she would prioritize the agreement on citizens rights.
