UK BOOSTS IRMA RESPONSE

UK Prime Minister Theresa May has announced 25 million pounds ($33m) in extra funding for British territories in the Caribbean affected by Hurricane Irma.

Extra troops are also being sent to the region.

It comes as UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson visits the Caribbean amid criticism from some residents about the British response.

The British Virgin Islands and Anguilla were both badly hit.

But Theresa May says the UK is doing everything it can to help.
