TUSK: NOT ENOUGH PROGRESS ON BREXIT TALKS

European Council President Donald Tusk says there has not been enough progress in Brexit negotiations to move onto trade talks.

He's been meeting with UK Prime Minister Theresa May in Downing Street after she gave a speech in Italy last week calling for a two-year transition period as Britain leaves the EU.

She wants to persuade negotiators in Brussels to proceed to trade discussions despite a lack of agreement on a series of key issues.

While calling for further progress in Brexit talks, Donald Tusk says he believes Britain is moving in the right direction.
