MAY AND TUSK MEET IN LONDON

UK Prime Minister Theresa May is meeting European Council President Donald Tusk in London - hoping to kick-start progress towards trade talks.

The discussions at Downing Street come after Mrs May set out plans for a two year transition period after Britain leaves the EU.

She will hope to convince Donald Tusk enough progress is being made in Brexit talks in Brussels to start trade discussions after a crucial European Council meeting in October.

Shadow Brexit Minister - Labour's Kier Starmer - says a transition might need to be longer than two years.
