Man sentenced in Germany over UN peacekeeper kidnapping

A German court has sentenced a Syrian man to three and a half years in prison for his role in the kidnapping of a UN peacekeeper near Damascus, Syria in 2013.

The kidnapped man, a lawyer from Canada, managed to escape captivity after eight months.
