German parties vie for third place in vote

While Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats appear poised for victory in Sunday's German elections, the race for third place remains very much undecided.

The far-right AfD party currently leads the pack polling around eleven percent, a result which would be a major shakeup to Germany's opposition.
