Exit polls: Merkel to remain German leader, strong result for far-right AfD

Initial projections from Germany's elections show Angela Merkel will likely remain chancellor of Germany with her conservative CDU party in first place by over ten percent.

However, what looks like a strong showing from the far-right AfD party has shaken up the country.
