US Defense Secretary Mattis pledges support for Ukraine, with plans for lethal aid

INTRO:

During a trip to Ukraine Thursday, US Defense Secretary James Mattis
promised Washington will keep pressuring Moscow to ease military
aggression in the region.

The Defense Chief also said he supports providing Kiev with defensive
weapons, although the Trump Administration has yet to take a final
decision on the issue.
