UN envoy regrets death of US reporter in South Sudan, calls on all sides to respect freedom of press

The United Nations special envoy to South Sudan has expressed regret over the death of American journalist Christopher Allen, who was killed Saturday in clashes between government and opposition forces. 


UN envoy David Shearer said attacks on journalists are unacceptable and called on all parties involved in the fighting to respect freedom of the press.
