Police in Spain have announced they've stopped an attempted attack
just hours after a van drove into a crowd of people in Barcelona
killing at least 13 people.
Authorities say that four people in Cambrils have been killed during
the police raid.
Spain's Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said the incident in Barcelona's
busy Las Ramblas avenue was a jihadist attack and the so-called
Islamic State have claimed responsibility.
Two people have been arrested but police say neither man was driving the van.
Those living in Cambrils south of Barcelona were urged by officials to
stay indoors.
