UN call for humanitarian funding

The United Nations has announced that it has only received a quarter
of the $23.5 billion it wants to fund humanitarian assistance programs
around the world.

In an appeal for fresh donations the UN states that new global
emergencies are driving up the numbers of people that need their help.
