Meanwhile, a White House spokeswoman is accusing the Democrats of "hypocrisy" for opposing the President's decision.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders rejected calls by Democrats for an independent prosecutor to be appointed to examine attempts by Russia to interfere with last year's Presidential election, and says Mr. Trump had not expected the Democrats' reaction to Mr. Comey's departure.
