State department condemns Turkey over violent attack on Washington protesters

U.S. police in the nation's capital say eleven people were injured on Wednesday night, when supporters of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan (and his bodyguards) charged a group of protestors outside the Turkish embassy.

The city's police chief described the attack as 'brutal' - condemned by the State department as an assault on free speech.
