Russia investigations move into criminal phase

Robert Mueller, the newly appointed special counsel, may end up filing criminal charges as he pursues the investigation into Russian meddling into the 2016 election and possibly influence on Trump insiders.

Deputy U.S. Attorney General Rod Rosenstein briefed the U.S. Senate after making the surprise announcement.

The U.S. Senate's Judiciary and Intelligence Committees continue to pursue their own line of public inquiry.

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, a member of the Judiciary Committee, says what he heard is that the criminial investigation takes precedence.
