Merkel’s CDU party pulls ahead in polls for key state election

Germany chancellor Angela Merkel's CDU party has pulled slightly ahead in several polls ahead of Sunday's elections in Germany's most populous state.

The race is seen as a key test of Merkel's chances of winning another term as chancellor in September elections.
