Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is in Russia to discuss the situation in the Middle East and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with Russia's President Vladimir Putin. Moscow has been trying to mediate direct talks between Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
